Hi Everyone!
I know I am rather chatty this week...lots going on! I wanted to help spread the word that Gecko Galz is looking to add three new members to their design team! So if you have ever been curiouse about working with a company on their design team this may be your chance! For all the information check out their blog at http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.com/ or their website at http://www.geckogalz.com/ .
Also I wanted to remind everyone that if you have not already done so the "BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY" ends this weekend and leave a little response of what kind of candy you like for a chance to WIN WIN WIN!
So now lets create a pretty little card! I started with Gecko Galz Butterfly Garden paper and olive green card stock as my card base. I cut the butterfly Garden paper to 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" and inked the edges with chestnut roan ink by Color Box. Then adhere to card front. I took 4 manilla colored tags and inked the edges useing the brown ink. Then in Photo shop take 4 vintage ladies (mine are from the "Goddess" collection from Gecko Galz) and ajust the color using brown and yellow to create sephia images print them out and cut them out and adhere to center of tag directly under the hole. underneath each image stamp a flourish image (I used Gecko Galz Garden Icon's clear stamps) Then take ribbon and using red line tape adhere strip to the top of the card (I used hand dyed silk ribbon from M & J Trimming http://www.mjtrim.com/Catalog/Product/183016/33583/33583.aspx ) Then take 1/2 yd of ribbon and string through tags and using glue dots adhere them to front of card faned out tie bows at each end of ribbon and adhere to each side of card creating a banner look. Then take vintage typewriter keys and spell out "Wish" (you can use any kind of letter items). And now you have a stunning birthday card with a vintage flair!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial day!

Digital Fun..... making Journals!
So awhile back I started playing around with Digital collage, it is an interesting art form and a great way to be creative without all the mess....but if you are like me you love the mess!
So for gifts I began taking my collage works and incorporating them with journals and creating my own hand altered journals. well they became such a hit that I began a little side business selling them at the holidays.
I wanted to share a few of my designs with you and show you another way to use the free images I give out each week. this is also a wonderful way to create ATC's, cards, hand altered books...you name it.
You will need Photoshop or photoshop elements to create digital collages and using the blending tools you will start with a basic digital background (you can scan in a piece of favorite paper and create your own) then using gif images with the backgrounds removed start layering them on. then print out the art once it is done and and using inks ink the edge then you can embellish using stickles. smooch inks, crystal gems, pearls...sky's the limit. As my book base I purchased journals from Hobby Lobby and covered them, that way the insides are as beautiful as the out. It is a fun way to create a special gift when you are short on time.
Below are a few of my books hope you enjoy them!
This one I actually used Graphics 45 Steam Punk Debutant papers, Tim Holtz Cogs, May arts ribbon and MM trim.
Have fun!
