Pretty Primavera with Itkupilli

This month Gecko Galz teamed up with amazing paper artist Itkupilli and we were asked to create a project with her Primavera pack and I fell in love with the colors and thought it would be fun to combine her products along with Gecko Galz Butterfly Wings and some matching tulle ribbon and created this charming kitchen chalk board.

I started with the stand that I purchases at Hobby Lobby and painted it using white acrylic paint then on the front adhered a sheet of Primavera paper by Itkupilli and inked the edges with pink and green distress inks.
Next I Took my wood plaque piece I purchased at Hobby Lobby and using chalkboard paint I painted one side then using E6000 I placed it on the front. Next I picked out a number of butterflies from the "Butterfly Wings" collage set and printed them out on heavy card stock then fussy cut them out then along with an erray of flowers by spare parts I layered them on around the chalk board using Scotch liquid adhesive.
Next I added Ice Stickles wo the butterfly wings and along the outer edge of the chalkboard pearls using my white Viva pearl pen. To finish I tied pink and green tulle ribbon to the top and fluffed.
This makes a great house warming gift or chalkboard for a guest room to welcome your guest.

VERY VINTAGE CARD

This month Gecko Galz is having another amazing challenge and the inspiration is all things vintage. So when I was considering what I wanted to make for the challenge I was inspired by a vintage doilie I found at an antique store in town.

To make this card I started with a cream card base and layered on a piece of Gecko Galz country charm paper and inked the edges with Vintage photo distress ink. Next using Scotch liquide adhesive I adhered the doilie to the center of the card then I layered on paper flowers from Paper Studio and prima and vintage buttons. Next using my Marvy 2.5" scallop circle punch I punched out a picture from Gecko Galz "Beauties in black and white" and inked the edges with my Vintage photo ink. Using foam squares I poppped it up over the large flower. This will make a wonderful birthday card which I plan to give to my mom!
So now it is your turn to create something vintage for the Gecko Galz  VERY VINTAGE CHALLENGE. For all the rules and to see what fabulouse prizes you could win go to the Gecko Galz Blog at

ALL THINGS PRETTY AND PINK

So this month Gecko Galz  has teamed up with the company with Wild Abandon and if you have never seen their amazing digital stamps you are sooooo missing out on some lovely works. For my samples I loved their background papers and Flights of fancy stamps and came up with these two amazing cards.

FLIGHTS OF FANCY CARD

for this card I used one of Gecko Galz beautiful Ever After papers as my card base then added the Fleur des Les strip from With Wild Abandon as well as their winged dress form digital stamp. I inked the stamped image using yellow, pink and orange inks from Distress inks. I tied a piece of hand dyed silk ribbon around the waist and layered a strip of pink chiffon rose trim down one side of the Fleur paper strip and down the other side I used my Viva pearl pen in cream to add pearl accents. Using pop dots I layered on my mannequin.

TAKE FLIGHT CARD

For  this card I layered on a piece of paper from With Wild Abandon as well as their winged Marie Antoinette digital stamp. I also printed out the shabby chic frame from Gecko Galz fab frames collection and in photo shop I printed my sentiment "Take Flight". Using distress inks I inked Marie and the center of the frame and well as the outer edge of the card.
Then I added some amazing vintage fringe  along the edge to give it that girly girl flair!

FREEBY FRIDAY.......AT THE BALLET

When I was a little girl I dreamed of being a prima ballerina, I mean what little girl didnt dream of wearing those fluffy white tutus and flying across the stage with the greatest of ease. But alas and alak I did not have the ankles to do toe shoes so I stuck with modern dance and jazz for 15 years. But I still have a soft spot in my heart every time I see a picture of a ballerina. I thought it would be nice to share some vintage ballerina images with all of you to use in your crafting. Have fun with them!
